The Beacon Museum
The Sellafield Story exhibition at the Beacon Museum, Whitehaven, offers visitors an exclusive virtual tour of the iconic nuclear site.
Sellafield have been funding the Beacon Museum as a flagship tourist attraction in Whitehaven for many years. From Pre-History to the Present, there are interactive galleries, talks, workshops, children’s activities and events throughout the year.
The Sellafield Story offers visitors an exclusive virtual tour of the iconic nuclear site. Housed in a 300-degree immersive cinema, the tour includes exclusive footage captured across the site and inside some of Sellafield’s nuclear facilities.
The updated exhibition also includes a photography timeline over the last 75 years, as well as how our communities have developed alongside the site. Other features include hands on games, early-years activities, and introduces three new central characters – proton, neutron, and electron – collectively known as the Atom Squad.
