Appointment of a Social Inclusion and Community Resilient Project Manager to help close the gap between the ‘haves and have-nots’ in Copeland.

Ensuring that the most vulnerable members of our community are supported and all residents have better life chances.

  • To develop, manage and deliver directly, or through partners, the Social Inclusion and Community Resilience programmes for the Council.
  • To work on COVID 19 Recovery and encourage, enable and facilitate partners from the voluntary sector and community groups to establish, strengthen and expand projects that are of strategic importance to the Council’s Recovery work.
  • To lead and grow the Social Inclusion team, including the Social Prescribing project and Well Whitehaven and manage the associated budgets.
  • To source funding for future opportunities for Social Inclusion and Community Resilience in line with strategic priorities.
  • To co-ordinate activity across the council where Social Inclusion and Community Recovery projects sit within different teams, such as work and skills.
  • To provide a sound, sustainable base for the Council’s future integrated communities agenda and COVID 19 Community Recovery plans.
