Howgill Family Centre

Howgill Family Centre early years nurseries support the most vulnerable families and disadvantaged or challenged children.

Community Resilience

Howgill Family Centre is a charity which works with families and children, operating in the communities of Whitehaven and Cleator Moor for 40 years.

Howgill works to build healthier, safer communities where children, young people and families are valued, respected and encouraged to achieve their potential. Places in the Howgill Family Centre nurseries are particularly aimed to support the most vulnerable families, and disadvantaged or challenged children, many with complex needs.

The funding has secured key management posts; they work with schools, health professionals and partners to evaluate and monitor projects, community needs are identified through discussion with parents and carers of nursery children and management and practitioners design, plan and run new services to meet those needs.
